Although it may seem like summer is almost over already, we have had a few glorious days and what better way to spend those days than at the beach?
When I go to the beach I love to do beachy hair, makeup and clothes and this is my way of doing simple beachy waves using a straightener.
First of all I wash my hair in the shower, usually using a volumising shampoo such as Big from Lush. Next, I apply a small amount of Moroccan Oil through the ends of my hair without brushing it.
Next, again without brushing my hair (I have very fine hair that doesn't tangle or knot too much when I blow-dry without brushing, if your hair is a bit thicker you might want to brush it out!), I blow dry my hair using my GHD Hairdryer. I dry the ends first, then tip my head upside down and put the hairdryer underneath to dry the roots in order to create a bit of extra volume.
Afterwards, I tie my top/shorter layer of hair up into a bun on the top of my head and use my straighteners to create small, loose waves, creating the curls so that they fall outwards from my face. To curl your hair with a straightener, take a section of hair and place the straightener near the top, then twist it all the way down to the bottom and let go, you should have beautiful curls!
Then, I take my top layer out of the bun and repeat the process with it, although sometimes I like the way it looks when the bun is left in, so in this case that's what I did.
Pair the look with a cool tee and a pair of comfy shorts, add your favourite sandals and head off! So simple and so effective. I hope you enjoyed this post! See you next week!
